Privacy Policy
Last updated: [DATE]
This Privacy Policy explains how [Your Name / Company Name] ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the Bob the Miner game (the "Game"), available at bob-the-miner.vercel.app (the "Site").
1. Information We Collect
The Game itself does not require an account and does not collect personal information
directly from you. Game progress (lives, coins, unlocked levels, etc.) is stored locally
in your browser using localStorage and never leaves your device or is sent
to us.
If you contact us directly (for example by email), we may receive your email address and the contents of your message, which we use only to respond to you.
If you choose to sign in with Google (via the Google icon on the Site), we receive basic profile information from your Google account â your name, email address, and profile picture. This information is stored only in your browser's local storage, is used solely to personalize your experience on the Site, and is not sent to or stored on any server we operate. You can sign out at any time by clicking the same icon again, which removes this information from your browser.
When signed in, we also save your game progress (lives, coins, unlocked levels, and owned or equipped items) to a private, app-specific storage area in your own Google Drive account (Google's "appDataFolder" â it does not appear in your regular Drive files and is not shared with anyone). This lets your progress follow you across devices when you sign in with the same Google account. This data is only readable by this app and by you (via your Google account's app permissions); we do not have server-side access to it.
If you sign in with Google, your name, profile picture, and highest level reached are also recorded on our servers (via Vercel's managed data storage) and displayed publicly to other players on the in-game Leaderboard. Unlike the progress data described above, this information is stored by us, not just in your own Google account, and is visible to anyone who opens the Leaderboard. If you'd prefer not to appear on the Leaderboard, simply don't sign in with Google, or contact us (see Section 8) to request removal of your entry.
2. Cookies and Advertising
We may use third-party advertising companies, including Google, to serve ads when you visit the Site. These companies may use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
For more information on how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services .
3. Children's Privacy
[State here whether the Game is directed at children under 13 (or the relevant age in your jurisdiction). If it is, or if it may attract a significant number of children, you likely need to enable Google's "child-directed treatment" setting in AdSense and comply with laws such as COPPA (US) or GDPR-K (EU). We strongly recommend reviewing this with a legal professional before launch.]
4. Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites or services (including advertisements). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
5. Data Retention
Since game progress is stored only in your browser's local storage, it persists until you clear your browser data or uninstall/reset the browser, and is never transmitted to us.
6. Your Choices
- You can clear your locally stored game data at any time via your browser settings.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising using the links in Section 2.
- Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
8. Contact Us
